Lets start from the beginning

Lien started her life on the stage at the tender age of 10, when she played the role of one of the orphans in the musical Annie at the KJT (?). After that followed musicals such as Pinnochio, Peter Pan and A Little Night Music. During her high school career she also guest starred in Spoed and Wittekerke.

It gets better…

When Lien was 19 she auditioned for a series called Thuis and received the role of Sofie, a character which she played for 4 years. During this period she also guest starred in, amongst other series, Flikken, Witse and De Wet Volgens Milo.

Voice

Her first major lead role in her dubbing career was playing the character of Maggie Peyton, in the Disney Original Movie Herbie: Fully Loaded. She also dubbed more characters in many more movies including The Simpsons Movie, Horton Hears A Who, Garfield, Alvin and the Chipmunks and Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy. However the movie she enjoyed was voicing the Flemish voice of Gylfie in The Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole, where she worked together with Matthias Schoenaerts.

Zone Stad

In 2008 she made her transition to Zone Stad, where she played the lead role of Fien Bosvoorde. She was also nominated in the category of best actress at the Monte Carlo Film Festival for this role. Lien also played in Vermist and Aspe during this period.

The Spiral

After her successful role in Zone Star, followed the lead role of Lien Roos Dubois, in the International coproduction of The Spiral. For this role Lien received British English lessons and lived in the city of Copenhagen for several months. The series was aired in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, The Netherlands and in Belgium. This series was also nominated for an Emmy award.

With the Northern Neighbors

Lien has also played roles in Dutch TV series, namely Flikken Maastricht and Heer & Meester. Zone Stad, known as Flikken Antwerpen in the Netherlands was a huge hit.

Further beyond the borders

She also had the opportunity to play in Nymphomaniac a film by Lars Von Trier, describing it as “an exceptional experience with an exceptional directer.”

And now

In 2016 Lien signed with television and radio company Medialaan, and can be seen currently playing the character of Marie Devlieger in the Belgium TV series Familie. Not only does Lien appear on screen, big and small, she also enjoys being on stage. From 2015-2016 she toured together with Jan De Smet, Pieter-Jan De Smet, Wouter Berlaen, Ad Cominotto and Stay Stoffelen for the Flemish cultural (centra) with the show Gedeelde Smart: Levenslappen en Smartliederen. The show has already been seen by some 10000 people, and is in the midst of touring again.

Out of this grew Liens next singing project with Jan De Smet and Wouter Berlaen. Her love of the French language and her longing for the months she spent in Montpellier, France is what led to the birth of Salut La Copine, which has been running since 2017.

In her law

Studying law and acting was an easy combination for Lien. She was temporarily written off of Thuis to follow her dream of completing her law degree in Montpellier, France. She then went on to specializing in Intellectual Property Law in Brussels, finishing with distinction.

When she fell pregnant with her daughter, Jeanne, Lien decided to focus on her law career and became the intellectual property advisor for Minister Vande Lanotte. Here she was allowed to write a new copyright law which is currently in Book XI of the Code of Economic law.

After her cabinet period, Lien gave birth to her second child, Victor, and decided to move back to the Brussels Bar. As a lawyer she is busy with intellectual property. In addition, she followed training as a recognized mediator in family affairs and civil and commercial matters. She is currently working as a consultant for law firm Finnian & Columba, an office that she and her college, lawyer Bart Van Besien, began in early 2017.
